I am thrilled to be giving this class, as it allows me to share my enthusiasm for working with spices and herbs.
We will start by jumping right into a flavor matching. I'll go through some basic concepts on how to blend flavors and the use of accent flavors to add interest and flair to your cooking, including:
How to work with finishing salts How to tweak recipes for "no-salt" diets Marinades, rubs and the use of smoky flavors How to add ethnic or regional references through the use of accent flavors Setting up a killer pantry. Your questions
Then we will make a spice blend together. Our goal is to get everyone comfortable with making their own blends. So, we will be grinding, mixing and generally having fun. Please click here to see our blog post on June's Class.
After this class you will be ready to take on the local barbecue king or make that old family recipe sing with lots of nuanced flavor!
Be sure to bring questions. Light snacks and beverages provided.
Price: $35 includes: a spice primer, spice packet and hopefully a fun evening spent in the company of some new friends.
