Sweet and Savory Spice Marrakesh Makes Chutney, Stews, Even Spinach Sing!
How can we make such as an outrageous statement?
We can, because it is true.
Spice Marrakesh has to be one of the best blends I have ever made.
It has tremendous flavor with a warming pleasant aroma that whispers
"Use Me".
It is loaded with hunky, compelling flavors of Cardamom, Clove, Nutmeg
and Black Pepper.
Normally, this cacophonous bunch would drown each other out.
However, by carefully blending and testing, I happened upon two
crucial elements that created a kind of magic: the correct ingredient
amounts and the artful use of Turmeric.
Typically associated with Indian Cuisine, Turmeric plays an interesting role in this blend.
It acts as the perfect bridge between the savory and sweet spices. It's intense perfume
rounds out the more strident notes of Cardamom while allowing Black Pepper
to keep its snap and Cinnamon its sweetness.
Our resulting, Spice Marrakesh is a bold, deep blend that is so loaded with flavor,
I chose to finish it without salt. The
NO SALT feature gives the cook the latitude
of choosing a specific type of salt or the option to leave the salt out entirely.
Whether you want to season an
Apple Chutney, Dress-up Swiss Chard,
simmer a lovely Chicken Tagine, or soften the mineral glow of Spinach,
this is a great blend to use. It's express flavor will add dash to polished main
courses and leftovers alike.
