About

One Saturday evening, about 6 years ago, I had a few people over for dinner.
It was raining outside and we had been on the golf course all day. We were soaked,
tired and needed to regroup.

Somehow, under the guise of cracking open a nice bottle of Pinot Noir, I managed to
convince our little band of duffers to wonder over to our place for a quick bite.

I was never particularly noted for my culinary skills, but that night a tiny switch clicked
on in my brain. (maybe it was the food fairy?)

We started with leftover tuna salad, sliced radish, crackers and cheese. While everyone
was relaxing,I managed to whip up a feast of a simple roasted lemon chicken breast,
oiled Yukon potatoes, sesame green beans and a salad. Total time in the kitchen was
about two segments of 15-20 minutes each.

We had the best time. Everyone was smiling. We were warm. We had great music
playing in the background. It seemed for few minutes, that we all shared that sense
of happiness only a satisfying meal delivers. It struck me this is what it’s all about:
Sharing with those you love. I guess mom was right, “Food brings people together.”

In many ways that’s what our company is all about: bringing people together,
to explore new flavors and to share ideas. It’s also the reason, Bill and I elected
to name our company after our moms: Juliet and Mae. There were both great
at bringing everyone together: Mae with her famous Sunday night roast beef
diners and Juliet with her inspired holiday parties. Both understood, breaking
bread together creates community.

We’re glad you elected to read this far!  Seriously, enjoy the site.
I hope you will find something you would like to try.

My very best,
Kathy
