When you want a simple soup and salad for dinner, this is the blend for you.
It was inspired by our friend Janet, whose recipe you can find under the recipe tab.
This blend is just the ticket for starchy vegetables. It works well on its own or you
can turn up the flavor-dial by adding a touch of Aleppo chili flake.
As you can see from the ingredient list, it would also make a nice seasoning for
fried fish, like True Cod. I would add it to the flour, not the bread crumb or panko.
( You always want the spice to flavor the fish. In my experience, if you over season the
breadcrumb, it will burn and turn the fish bitter.)
The soup goes well with a nice firm German style rye bread and a simple
tossed green salad with vinaigrette. It's just the thing for a quiet night after a long
day at the Farmer's Market or a full day at work. Enjoy!
